Meet our Webmaster
Anne Sladky stepped into the webmaster's job in January, 2004. Her Valdres great-great-great grandfather, Gulbrand Kassenborg, came to America in 1850 with his family, settling first in Rock County Wisconsin and then in Houston County Minnesota. When his daughter and son-in-law moved to the Buffalo River Settlement in Clay County MN in 1874 he joined them there - and (quite a few decades later) that's where Anne was born and raised. After working around the country for 30 years in the computer field she remarried, "retired," and relocated from the Twin Cities to Northern Minnesota. She enjoys learning all she can about her ancestors and their culture and wants to be sure her two adult children and two grandchildren never forget their Norwegian heritage - Anne is very proud to be of 100% Norwegian descent!
The Samband's Original Webmaster, Cathy Paulson
The basic design and organization of the Valdres Samband website are the work of Cathy Paulson. She initiated the Samband's Internet efforts in 1997. Her sudden and unexpected loss was felt by all who knew or were touched by her. The Samband is grateful for the wonderful legacy of the website she left behind.
