SPIDER?? This is a term for the automated process used to read web pages and collect information. Search engine spiders collect information so that a website can be returned as a result when you do an internet search. Some spiders read through websites collecting e-mail addresses so that the addresses can be used by advertisers or other annoying e-mail generators. Search engine spiders can be expected to respect the coded "ignore" message that has been embedded in this page. E-mail collecting spiders (sometimes called 'spambots') can be expected to read through this page anyway, looking for the "@" and easily recognizable structure of an e-mail address. Addresses on this page are stored without the "@" and only become "visible" when the page is displayed in a browser. This offers significant protection against E-mail collecting spiders.
