Greetings from Norway!

My
father Rolf Arnfinn Bjorgo was born in 1937 in Bjørgo, Valdres. His
father, Reidar, was the son of Jul Bjørgo and Karen (Kapperud) Bjørgo,
from the farm Nordre Bjørgo (Bjørgo North). His mother, Klara, was the
daughter of Andreas Bjørgo and Berte (Borselien) Bjørgo. She grew up at
the farm Sorre Bjørgo (Bjørgo South) in Valdres.
My
mother’s name is Berit (born Seip Hanevold) Bjørgo, from Asker near
Oslo.
Valdres, and especially the
Bjørgo mountains (Bjørgoaasen), is quite important to me, both when it
comes to making music, and spending time with my family.
Growing
up I spent most of my holidays in Valdres – and I still do!
I make
most of the music I play and use it both as a recording solo artist and
in my bands. The last couple of years I have also studied traditional
music from Valdres played on regular accordion and diatonic accordion. I
also have workshops.
In 2002 I visited North- and South Dakota and Minnesota with my band AskerLadden. We had a great time, but unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to visit the places where my relatives live.
I hope
you enjoy my music. Have a look at www.ingunnbjorgo.no for
more!
Best
regards, Ingunn Bjørgo
